Crafted from 100% Dew-Retted Linen, with a slightly textured and soft hand feel.
Linen is a natural plant fibre, grown from the flax plant. The crop itself is naturally pest-resistant and requires minimal water to grow, meaning it demands fewer resources than crops such as conventionally-grown cotton.
Linen grown in France follows more traditional methods of growing and processing. For example, the crop is stripped back to prepare it for textiles using a dew-retting process. Dew-retting makes use of natural sunlight and dew to soften the crop, rather than using intensive chemical or water processes.
In 2024, Elk acquired B Corp Ceritfication. The B Corp logo is the mark of a business that has been independently certified to go beyond business as usual to proactively meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
